Micro Business Owners Walk for Health Day

Waterford Health Day on May 12th gives Waterford Micro Business Network (Waterford MBN) members an opportunity to put their health first as they walk to their monthly meeting in the Ramada Viking Hotel on the Cork Road. Waterford MBN was set up by Liam Murphy from the Department of Social and Family Affairs and Joe Kelly, formerly Waterford Area Partnership to encourage and support individuals who take the step towards self employment.

“Setting up and running a business can lead to unhealthy levels of stress and growing challenges in the current economic climate can lead to self-employed people neglecting their health. Working for yourself involves working very hard and if you become ill you may no longer have an income so it is important for business owners to maintain their health and wellbeing. By taking simple steps such as taking more exercise, our members can make a real difference to the quality of their lives which will have a positive impact on their businesses” said Victoria Wilmott, Chairperson of Waterford MBN.
